state, and local government actions covering
a variety of environmental, safety, and energy
issues are one focus of the Government Affairs
Department. HPBA meets with legislative staff
of congressional offices and committees, as
well as regulatory agencies, to discuss industry
concerns with policy makers. HPBA sits on the
U.S. EPA Clean Air Act Advisory Committee (CAAAC)
and participates in other federal, state, and
local public initiatives.
HPBA helps draft and revise codes and standards
at the state and local levels and participates
in several consensus-based standards organizations
to protect the industrys interests:
Z21 NFPA UL ASHRAE
ICC. HPBA also works with state and
local jurisdictions to assure that proper standards
are adopted and that they are interpreted correctly
by building inspectors. |
